Liebe nicht mich

If you love wealth, do not love me
For there are many who are richer than me

If you love beauty, do not love me
For there are many who are more beautiful than me

Yet if it is love that you love, only love me
For there is no one who loves you more than I.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed. (By the way, I wish I could understand the title.)

A beautifully restrained free-verse poem, built on clear parallelism and a quietly powerful turn in its final stanza. The contrast between worldly measures and steadfast love gives the ending real tenderness and conviction.
