Liberty To Write

We live in a modern world, where liberty is readily found
When ones writing should be shared, not driven underground

Co-writes, even collaborations, two thoughts to join as one
Some are frowned upon, before they have begun

These traits that lie among us, I care not for what they are
They serve no other purpose, it's jealousy gone too far

This applies to whoever, out there in the living world
Let poets write their writes, for they have to be read and heard

If it's something you can't comprehend, get you heads back in the sand
For quills will turn into arrows, by literal command

I hope you weren't given a bad time by someone who ridiculed or complained. We should each have the freedom to write as long as we don't hurt or offend. So sorry if you were caught in the crossfire. (On another note....I'm hoping you have a wonderful holiday, James! Thank you for all your kindness throughout this past year, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!)

Dear James, a deep message . .Some poems will never be written or read. .Nothing better than the freedom of speach and verses to be penned.Well said!

We do need to get our heads out of the sand, James. This is a great poem! Are you going to write about your New Year's Resolution for the contest? It seems most of us want to lose weight. Have a nice Christmas, Diane

This is excellent!! love the line "Let poets write their writes, for they have to be read and heard"... not everyone likes what they hear but the poets must write and be heard for they have truths to be told!
