Liar, Liar Pants On Fire

Billy was ten and building a rocket.
He claimed no one his age could top it.
The day came for the firing
But a blunder in the wiring
Made it end up in Billy’s pants pocket.

Too much truth in your limerick has me wincing about a misdirected skyrocket in my youth. Thanks for the memory Paul - Lindsay

Have you ever wondered how we survived childhood--no safety caps on medicine bottles, no safety belts, no bicycle helmets? I rejoice that you survived; otherwise we wouldn't have your exquisite story poems. . . . Thanks for your comment, Lindsay
