Levelling Up
We walk on these streets.
We see the same skies
We see the people smiling who we love but do we hear the screams of their cries
Red bricks glow in the evening sunlight but turn black under dark skies
Curtains cover the daylight of a mean life where dreams just wave passing by
People crying on their knees begging to find a light lost in these times
Money controls all aspects of our lives, don’t believe all their lies.
Hope and dreams cost money to run in real life but then the rulers say that you can’t have none while smiling at the tears that you cry.
Hope carries a dream of living a free life but the rules kill your free hope and you see your life and dreams just wither and die
If this world carves you out of stone it’s hard to twist and turn to the light.
Perhaps we’re born under a moon surrounded by starlight that just says hello new human, welcome to a world where from this moment to your end time…
you’re fu#ked for life.
