Letting Someone In Is Not Always Easy, Perhaps

Letting someone in is not always easy, perhaps.
Here comes the request, a voice a bit surer than that
I was reluctant as letting in is not always easy, perhaps….
We, I, you are performers of invisible strings.
Captured in our own shadows of captivating time.

I was witnessing truth, in times of joy and laughter
I was seeing the truth, in times of sadness
Those are the truth of life in different dimensions
Those are pleading to let them go.

You were polite, soft and convincing
You wanted me to look into the brighter side
Each day lost is a day earned for the eternity
through good deeds and through our conviction.

I was standing on the road.
I saw the car, coming as I started crossing
A simple collision, and a simple hit
And you were requesting to let me in.

Letting someone in is not always easy, perhaps.
And harder it is to let go.
