Letter to my friend - 4
No snow around, the cold bites deep,
The fields are sad, where childhood used to leap.
I’ll write a letter to my friend Temirjan,
Please hand me my pen, dear wife, if you can.
Sweet feelings once danced in our hearts,
Rushing like rivers, through valleys and parts.
Though frost bit our souls in many a place,
Our friendship, from winter, found warmth and grace.
Youth never returns, its fire now wanes,
I’ll light up my thoughts, where wisdom reigns.
Knowing your fate like the back of my hand,
Our friendship is dear, no bond can withstand.
Like spring's gentle stream, I wish to bestow,
The breeze of April, to warm hearts below.
In December's chill, may my verses embrace,
A cradle of warmth, where dreams find their place.
While waiting for sheep on the distant side,
We played games of bone under sky wide.
From a well far away, with two buckets in hand,
We carried the water, never put it on the land.
What strength could a child with frail limbs have?
Yet courage can rise when one takes a stand.
We were very strong when we were proud,
Then we could lift a mountain load.
Oh, what joy it was, those wonderful days,
You fill me with strength in so many ways.
One day holds more worth than a thousand,
We cannot make childhood toys from the sand.
As clouds dance above in the sky so wide,
Boys turn to clouds in the swiftest of tides.
Did I lift your spirits with memories so bright?
In the echoes of youth, I hope you find light.
