Let's Talk About Money

Let's talk about money, honey
That sour flower, that power to devour
The corrupt disruption of consumption
Let's face the disgrace of that gilded tower

Let's concede when greed exceeds need
That green paper's vapor, that seductive speed
The addict's cruel fall into possession depression
The coin rules all, as the greater dictator

For this unjust trust, thank the banks
Who cajole your soul, in exchange for coal.

I like the rhyme of this one, Michelle. It makes me think of rap. (In a good way!) Greed is the root of all evil is something I was thinking about, just yesterday!....Took the words right out of my mouth, so to speak! Anyway....Well done my friend!!!..................pat

Well I think greed is the root of all evil, but that is tied to money so it's all become one thing, thanks for your comment!

"For this unjust trust, thank the banks Who cajole your soul, in exchange for coal." Something to think about; one can't live without money but, they can't live right with it, either. Well done.

This was more about how banks and credit card companies abuse their power to trap people into loans or cards with hidden costs which takes years to pay off, just so they can get richer-

Money, one of the world's most interesting ideas that tear people apart so hard and fast, as there never seems to be enough, and it does rule. I like this because it makes so much CENTS.
