Let's Go Home

It is no secret, you have my heart
from the start!
from the first time you smiled on me
and I discovered myself in love with you
no matter how long or far we stay apart
deep inside i know it's true
as strange as it may seem
(no, it's not just a dream)
that we are meant to be one, we two

like a bolt from the blue
striking like lightning
sudden, fierce and unexpected
but not at all frightening
...the telephone will ring, or
a knock will sound upon some door
or maybe we'll turn a corner
on some small street
in time and place yet unknown
it won't matter how long you've been gone.
you will take my hand in your own
smile on me
and say Let's go home
... and we will
