Let's Find Peace and Stop the Pain

It’s just a terrible situation
        being so harsh and critical-
A revealed capricious sensation
    from those who are hypocritical.
Derogatory and unrespected
with a loving environment expected,
                  leaving someone in obliteration.

Robert was an old fair soul,
with sonnets making us cry-
This site took its weary toll,
with no concrete reason why.
Vilifying and arbitrary are they,
leaving him with no rhymes to say-
He always saw the glass half full.

Being judgmental can cause pain,
    leaving such anguish within-
Now only hurtful memories remain,
from those full of disparaging sin.
Let us all find peace to spread,
and compliment good people instead-
free from abhor portrayed in vain.

They are fault-finding, full of hate,
never reminded of their own faults-
Now it seems it’s far too late,
we should bring this problem to a halt.
Captious and abusive without regret,
              then they quickly forget,
that being a great poet was his fate.

A safe place this was to be,
for us who love to write-
It’s poets like you and me,
that get burned by the contrite.
We should be free to express,
expecting nothing less,
if only the haters could see.

So next time you feel the urge
to be cruel and cause suffering,
cleanse your mind with a purge,
and try to say absolutely nothing.
Remove all the bad haste,
being judgmental is a waste,
let us all come together and converge.

Thank you my friend. You created a beautiful and insightful description of the problem and how haters can and do manage to hurt others. We poets are , word people, thus hitting us with painful and nasty words takes a toll. Yet, others being so kind can heal that and life goes on!! Congratulations on your win in Brenda's haters contest.

Excellent entry for the contest.. This is one of the best I have seen... Sad when people need to bully others, especially when they complain about being bullied, but they are doing it themselves... You are right, they are hypocrites...
