Lets Burn This Candle Down

Lay me down
Kiss my lips
Let’s live out every wish
For the first time may our souls unite as one

I’ll make you smile
I’ll make you sigh
Neath the glow of a candles light
Let’s make tonight a night that never ends

Let’s burn this candle down
Till the sun breaks through the clouds
Till morning dew lays gently...on the ground
Just time, you and I, two hearts sharing desires
Let’s burn this candle down... till morning light

When paradise comes calling
Let’s meet up once again
To prove we’re lifetime lovers
Much more than, merely friends

Tomorrow’s never promised
We won’t always be around
So tonight let’s burn this candle
Let’s burn this candle down

Let’s burn this candle down
Till the sun breaks through the clouds
Till morning dew lays gently on the ground
Just time, you and I, two hearts sharing their desires
Let’s burn this candle down... till morning light

Let’s burn this candle down till... morning light
And let me love you all the days of our lives....

Wow Michael I love this lyric, I could sense the melody right away, this is a great romantic song well done. Now we have I think 6 songwriters on this site!

I know what you mean, I do read music and play trumpet but it's hard to compose unless you play guitar or piano, writing music is based on C and the trumpet is Bflat so I learned music by transposing, so it makes it difficult. I have found a few composers that are really good, if you check one of my recent lyrics it has the melody and vocals.

Thanks John! My early stuff was simple poems but I have since transitioned into lyrics, but still like to post them here. If only I played guitar or could sing. Thanks for looking!
