Let Us Tango

Let us tango and join our passions
In an embrace that may outlive
Our needs

Let us engulf each other
And burn within and without
So that the phoenix of desire sated
Can rise
And the anxiety of now can end

Let us feel the emotions
That are raw and uncontrollable
And even fleeting
Let us tango

May our inner strength buttress us
Containing a want and a need
That when satisfied may become
A noose around our necks

Let us dance and move
To the tune we create when emotions gel
And opposites meet and combine

May the energy we create not blur our reality
Altering our perception of what needs or can be done

Let us believe that love may conquer all
And will eventually prevail

Let us hope that passion can heal wounds seen or unseen
Despite Pandora’s Box being flung open
To get at the prize

Let us tango and be strong
Let us cherish the now
And foolishly look not into the future

We are this moment made for each other
Let us play the game and be combatants
For our common selfish good

Love can infiltrate the psyche
And sometimes does more harm
Though clothed in good intentions

Let us tango and be strong
