we can be one

i know this is in our hearts

this song of joy

i know this is in our minds

the tools of love

we can sing this song

one day

our children

all of our children

will sing this song

it will be sung

in all the languages of the world

and boys and girls

of all colors

will walk down beautiful hills

holding hands

singing this song together

deeply aware of our past

knowing it will never be repeated

let us start to sing this song

the earth is crying

you are crying

i am crying

we are crying

let us start singing
