Let My Heart Be the Sea

let my heart be the sea the dark waves inked and glowing by moonlight my mind takes the shape of a ship shadowed and dusty yet dusted with hope I am the captain of this vessel crawling on the water like a big wooden junebug I let the ocean sway me I get turned around all wrong when staring into the sun I hold myself I pray to that which I hope is more than myself It gets a little lonely on deck my sad little ship without a crew It is always nighttime on this sea but I am oddly comforted by the stars the constant sway-rock from the water I hear the lapping of the waves on the side of the boat and silence yet I can always hear the music I am creating in my mind quitely stemming from the sea it plays for me what I want it to hear
