Let Me Not Pen

              ~Let Me Not Pen~

        Fast, meaningless, poetry.
        And the have the chutzpah,
To dare even call it, artistry!

        Thoughtful poems take time.
Even twelve year olds know this!
Adults should have far more wits.

Taking the easy way out makes me
        Not only uneasy...it makes me
        Without a doubt, massively queasy!

Races for this and races, for that?
Valuable poetry is passed by, like dead rats.
Or as, beautiful, expensive Boraslino hats!

                        ~2~

There's a lot of wisdom in what your poem says, Panagiota. I had to use your full name, it is so lovely. :-) I've been trying to write too many poems and have lost some of my soulfulness in my recent poetry. I will not give up, I will write better. I appreciate you poetry and you thoughtful comments on mine. Hugs, Bill

Hi, Ann. Good to know it was an enjoyable read. I meant every word I said. Poetry is an art. Not sentences on paper that are formless. Rambling, long poems, I cannot read. In appreciation and hugs, Panagiota xx

We rush too much in life and should not do it with poetry. Take your time and write good poetry.

You said it! Far better than I. You have a talent for getting to the point. I admire that. Be clear in any communication. Peoples time in limited...I still have much to learn in poetry. Hugs, Panagiota xx

Mediocrity, makeup, fast-fixes is the way of the world. Dazzle them with brilliance, shinny and bright, well proportioned...but spiritual empty. I agree with Eve -- I am not aging gracefully, hate every minute of decline. Really resent it!

You would not want to be in my body, I promise... Helpful to practice gratitude for all the good years. Many are in hospitals dying! Here we are. I say make the most of your talents which are many. I don’t get dazzling anyone. Maybe because I already found that years ago as a public speaker, comedienne and actress! Magical moments. An appreciative audience is the best. Poets like you and Eve are friends, not here one day, gone tomorrow. I love you both. Huggs, Panagiota.xx

I sure have not been in the mood for writing much less much more. I did hurt myself a few times.... AGE!!!!!!!!!!. I ended up with a torn meniscus a couple of months ago working in the flowerbeds. I waited over a month to find out what it was, a shot of steroids in the knee. Then a week an a half ago I picked up a chair and someway I pop that same knee , oh the pain. Then a few days later was my back lifting a bag of lava rocks . I just waited for all the other to heal.. I hate being old.

Eve~ I am happy to the hilt to hear from you. Our bones, muscles are not the same as when we were 20. I never had steroids. Pain can be excruciating. Join other poets here, who currently are in pain. Your knee is sending you a message. LOL! I have to keep moving and no sedentary stuff. No crossing legs ever. And must drink tons of water.. methinks you need a gardener? Grow things on your porch or deck, maybe? Be glad, my friend, you are above ground, not below it.you blessed me with your letter. Take care.... Love you, Panagiota xx
