Let Me Choose

In my mothers womb,
so safe and sound,
waiting for light
to shine on me.

Life is so special
looking forward
to seeing what's
in store for me.

Little heart beating,
so warm and carefree
it is here, so safe
and so secure.

What are they doing to
me, something I see
coming toward me,
oh, my little skin burns
and my eyes hurt so,

I can't breathe, my
lungs ache so,
pain everywhere now,
don't do this,

stop this please,
don't murder me,
let me chose
when to die.

My mother says
it's her body to
choose what to do
with it,

but that's not true,
her body belongs to God,
and only He has
the right to take life.

Only I can't stop
them from doing
this horrible thing
to me.

I will go to heaven,
without ever knowing
what my life could have
become.

One thing that I can't understand is why, when there exists many ways to be responible why for some, it seems, to use abortion as birth control. Also, so many couples can't have children and adoption can fill lives with the joy of having children. Powerful write. God bless you and thank you for sharing this and your thoughtful comments. Happy holidays. Love Robin

This is one of finest write I have read with such a deep subject. I loved your way. As a woman, I certainly would never agree with something called "abortion". I have seen my two niece being aborted and this is so frightening for me. People must realize what should have happened to their lives if only their mothers aborted them. There's an another point to it though, just as Sharon said. But I'm with you!! Take care always, Chitra

I have strong opinions on both sides I understand pro-life views and agree with most of them, however, I believe in the cases of rape or incest, or where the life of the mother is in danger no one but God should judge a woman for making such a difficult choice. Until we have waked in those shoes we do not have the right to judge This is a controversial subject and I will say no more on it. I respect you and your poetry James, and you, like everyone else are entitled to your opinions Love, Shar
