Ian, I like how deep and true this is. Nothing's easy when it comes to forgiving and forgetting, and remembering. :) , Stopping by with a nice, sweet Welcome to Poetry Soup. Thanks a lot. Yes I did mean it as absolution. I wrote mostly about the old saying "forgive but don't forget". Learn from your experiences but don't allow change who you are. appreciate the feedback

This is an awesome poem -- the constant battle of forgiving, forgetting, and remembering . . . your third line impactful, not sure if you meant this but I took it as absolution -- which ties in nicely with you overall theme.
