Let Fall the Leaves

The wind came from the east today. Seems fall is not too far away, As children on the school yard play; Let fall the leaves of yesterday. ~Mel

Thank you, Arthur. Who knows, maybe one day I'll write something cheerful and/or uplifting--one day. Truth is, I'd rewrite this if I could. Anyway, take care and keep in touch...Mel

Leaves come , leaves go. God wisely made it so. Winter is very cold. Colder as I get older. Where did my life go. Lost into a blizzard of deep snow.. Mel, hope you are doing well. Stopping in to see what ya been up to my friend..

Hi Robert. I appreciate the visit. I've been working and fooling around on FaceBook, posting a poem every day or two. Funny, I get a better response there than on this poetry site. Still, if I pen one that's decent, I'll post it here as well. It finally hit me: I haven't a big following, but a good one, such as you. And for that reason I return. Thanks for caring, Robert; means a lot! Mel

Is that a metaphor? I see everything as a metaphor. But if you intended that, then you're a very clever girl, Cas. Absent the metaphor, the leaves have begun their falling; a beautiful is the view. Also, I've been real sick (a bad cold) the past few days. Where's the chicken soup????? xoxo...Mel

Thank you my friend. It's mid-summer here in LA, but I saw a leaf fall earlier today. I think autumn has begun its long, quiet quest for winter. All the best to you...Mel

Thank you Eileen. Sorry to take so long to respond. Damn, I came down with one hell of a cold! Funny time of year for it. FYI: I saw a leaf fall just today...and so it begins...xxx...Mel
