Lest We Forget.....

Turtle Island...is what it was called
revered by it's people,eventually appalled

Here long before the european invasion
lest we forget from historical persuasion

A nomadic culture whom lived with the seasons
disrespect to nature,to them was high treason

Crossing a landbridge,enduring migration
new home was found with much invigoration

Difference of belief,shouldn't be termed as primitive
all within the universe is found to be relative

Chief's and wise men orally told
which continued their story as nuggets of gold

Ancient cultures and races,were once,
as they pass with the stars and the setting sun.....

          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" All things are connected...whatever befalls the earth,
   befalls the children of earth......"
                                                              Chief Seattle
                                                    Suqwamish and Duwamish
