Lessons of the Heart

I always thought my heart was made to love;
but now I know I'm wrong.
The heart was also made to feel pain
and sing a sad sweet song.

I always thought my heart was made for good,
but now I finally see;
Without some evil in my heart
true love can never be.

I always thought my heart was made for joy;
but what I've finally learned,
is when I decide to share my heart
It's most likely to get burned.

I always thought my heart was made to heal;
but that's not true at all.
Once a heart is truly broken
the pain's perpetual.

Not a bad submission. It is descriptive with some good rhyming.
