Less Than Triumphant Return
It's been a while since I've been here
Three, maybe four years
My old worked provoked a tear
Of laughter, so these are the things I used to fear?
Can't expect too much from a kid
But I don't feel I've changed much as it is
Though I'm in a much better place that I was then
Or am I?
Well I've definitely grown, in age and maturity
And I've stopped abiding by perception is reality
Consequently I'm more numb than I used to be
The kid who wrote those poems would never make it through boot camp
But if he did, at least he'd know what to do with himself
That's only because he didn't have to worry about anything else
As of now I don't either; just going with systematic flow
But only less than 1% of the American population gets to go where I go
Maybe I'll have a better analysis when I get back, who knows
