Leaving Fate

we are chosen
the softest revelation
whispers in the ear
a guided gesture
resides in stars
every fallen sparkle
a trail of wonder

blinded by choice
good and evil are a delusion
the embers burn bright on both sides
nobles bend and humble the saved
the willing serve a master
we all feed the flames
until a whisper
strikes never

the audible silence
calm divine madness
the next toss of a coin
tumbles in promise
as water pours
over clasped hands
holding a prayer

no whispers in the ear
no stars fallen trail
no wonder of a tale
the rear-view mirror
frames a life without fear
action without regret
leaving without fate
