Leaving

I sit alone and watch as bare branches sway this way and that in a light autumn breeze birds still sing their goodbyes high in the trees I ask myself shall I ever come this way again as I stand and reluctantly walk down the lane one last glance before I leave and I turn to see a scene beautiful and so familiar to me Soon, high in the sky I fly away hoping, praying I shall return someday.
