Leaves Now Rustle
Leaves now rustle beneath my feet
As autumn gusts and blows,
No vestige of summer's heat
How I wished it though.
As autumn gusts and blows
All is bare and stark.
Not a leaf upon a branch,
No flowers in the park.
All is bare and stark
As winter comes a' calling.
Soon to leave her signature,
When snowflakes start a' falling.
As winter comes a' calling,
No vestige of summer's heat.
Autumn's remnants fell to earth,
Leaves now rustle beneath my feet.
