Learning Patience

Waiting patiently for my turn
Getting impatient as I wait
It is patience I need to learn
Oh, when will a fish take my bait?

Waiting patiently for my turn
But time is draining my patience
Impatience makes my anger burn
Anger unleashed pricks my conscience

Waiting patiently for my turn
'My child, why are you impatient?'
'Forgive me, Lord. Please help me learn
To love like You by being patient'

Other wonderful poem reminding me the saying; Lord, please give me patience, but give it to me NOW! Like grass, people grow up spiritually at their own time, no need to pull and ask: grow now. Except poetry whose wonder is that it may suddenly come in all its splendour like Worte wie blumen, like love at first sight.

Yes, our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us patience through challenges, difficulties and withheld desires. Patience is part of the Fruit of the Spirit.
