All students must read this, most especially those who are in high school! They will be much inspired to do well in Math if they do read this!

I think it's a great idea to incorporate practical skills (like math) in with more life skills (manners, building character, and so on). In Japan, for the first two years of school, kids don't actually get graded on anything, but those first two years are spent solely on character building and manners ... nothing else. I think that's really cool myself! "multiplication which can also be sharing, addition for adding joy and subtraction for subtracting sorrows" <<< :)

I enjoyed the bubbly spirit and repetition ... it made me feel like a kid. Funny, math was my first love as a child. Along with reading and collecting almanacs (yes, I was a bit odd). I abhorred reading story books, only liked factual ones. Then one day I caved, and now I LOVE reading stories, and writing poetry. I don't know how those two very different interests collide, but somehow it all worked out! I liked when you used division to teach a lesson in life, what do the other operations teach?

Thanks for your precious time reading my poem my dear friend, Timo. Since division is sharing equally, that's where the message/value came from. But, thanks for reminding me, coz I've to insert multiplication which can also be sharing, addition for adding joy and subtraction for subtracting sorrows:))

This is sweet and entertaining, Leonora:) I was more keen on languages, history and literature, but also had a soft spot for Maths. This also takes me back to my teaching days...miss the job! ~ Big hugs to you dear friend:) // paul

I don't like you anymore. Just like me sister, you love math and can obviously do it while I cannot. I was okay until the stanza that mentioned algebra and geometry; however, this is indeed a great kid's song and may succeed in keeping them calm and excited when they reach the harder levels! I am being so flippant because I had such a hard time. Seriously, a good poem and great song for the small one's math enthusiasm ... CayCay
