Learn To Be You

This society has become a world where people don't want to live in;
a world where I don't want to live in.
You get judged on the clothes you wear;
the gender or the person you're interested in;
the way you look and the color of your skin.
Why would anyone want to live in a world so cruel and judgmental?
You wonder what it's going to take for you to fit in.
You ask if it's something that you've done.
And you beg God to change the person you are or the way you look.
Well maybe it's not you.
Maybe it's just the world we live in.
I've learned to accept who I am.
I'm me, because God made me this way.
And I plan on walking through life with my head held high.
I'm not going to let anyone bring me down.
I will continue to be ME!

I think you meant 'beg' not bed God if I'm not mistaken, the first two lines could use a little finessing in my humble opinion, otherwise it's a good poem about self-awareness and tolerance.
