Lavender Flowers

Fragments of my memory
dissolve like mist
in the summer sun.
Parts of me
live in patches like
the moon on fragile nights.
I let chaos reign
in my head
and ropes of thoughts
strangle my being.

I let doubts of my existence
deplete my innards
as I watch the sky roar with confidence.
I have walked this path
innumerable times.
It has pricked my feet and hollowed
my soul.

And yet when empathy blooms
like fragrant wild flowers
I forget who I am
I forget how love has hurt me all the time.

The ocean beckons me today
the cliffs and ridges call out my name
for I am lost in a void
embedded in regret and loathe.
Yet a faint light of hope
flicker in the pain.
A flame of love
From my heart to my soul.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed. Congrats likewise!
