Laughter

You hear a crash, you stand still. You're hoping that it was anything, but you can't move. You know all you have to do is get up. Broken glass covers the laminated floor. You scream, curse, and shout in pain. No one can see the sharp jagged pieces from the flesh of your foot. You try to explain, but the sound of your voice is laughable. No one hears your words, just your odd voice. You weren't cursed or damned to this hellish life. The tears flow, and the eye's they roll. How come you're a wealth of knowledge but know not what it feels like to open a book? To read to yourself and not feel as though the inner voice you choose has to be someone else.

Here they come out of the shadows just to leave as quickly, Hold still and take a deep breath the hand on your shoulder says. Taking the sharp edge of the glass out of your foot. You can't see this person; this person is for you. They cover your ears when they laugh, they hug you when you're cold, and they remind you that everything you do, you do your best. You then start to smile, but not the type that others can see. No, you smile with your heart; the eyes are no longer watching, so you smile with your face. The night comes, but not in horror, instead in a warm blanket. You get to share this moment with your person. You know not to speak with this person, or you'll have your bedtime chosen for you. But one day this person will be your only friend, and you'll be too far gone to be seen as less than a loose thread. Take the days and let them flow together, but soon you will see the person you love, you will see them fully. You can hold them and smile with them. They were there at your first breath. Some think that they were there when you came of age. But you know better.
The main DNA was the problem. What is the problem? They ask they come up with a solution. What about that noise you heard? You look around, and you never moved. You know you shouldn't go and inspect the noise. The glass will cut you. The smiles and the laughter will come. But you have to. You wish the person were there. You shrink down and hold your ears. Hoping that they appear, you keep wishing the laughter would go away, your hands aren't strong enough to hold the sound back, you can't speak, the voice you have is a rant of useless facts, the diction you use isn't up to par, just when you cry in silence, you feel the warm hand over your hands. The voice whispers kind things and you, Things that make you feel peace. Quiet, no laughing.
