Laughing Eyes
Eyes have a language of their own
They tell a different tale
Yours speak a different dialect
As you smile, grave and frail
I want to know what they say
I want to hear them talk
But words are not the same for eyes
They rather walk than talk
They prefer the silent gestures
As revelations from the heart
Revealed in quick glances
A flicker of the light
That show the heat of passion
Empathy that reaches stone
Love that stretches out cold hands
While your feet carry me home.
