Late Summer Storm

I woke up to the rumbling sky
Of thousand hooves thundering
Through the heavens' horse race
And their dark dusty clouds

I filled my cup with dewdrops
Before the rain fell
And painted the roads black
With its sweaty sheen

The late summer day
Has just begun its rounds
As I took a sip in my dreams
Lightning’s crashing all around
