Late Evening

After the heavy rain,
Late evening now gapes;
Dreary and weary strains
Coax body for sleepscape.

Dark is this wet, wet night
When gloomy aura taunts;
Empty streets in sure plight,
Hear stray echoes now haunt.

Time to speed home to rest,
Tomorrow will come brisk;
Rest well before that quest,
Leave loss and gain and risk.

As you retire from wet,
Let the warm and dry seed;
Gain comfort in mindset
Ready with promised feed.

February moon now glows
In melancholic swerve;
Clouds in the night sky show
An aura in sad curves.

Goodnight then dear mystic
Waiting for that magic;
Echoes of tunes cryptic,
Sleep plunging authentic.
