Late Evening
Here on the first day
Of a plush new year,
Feel a fine pulse play
As new light endears.
Rain in the dawn light
Spreads a misty feel,
Sleep with dreamy sights
As the new year spills.
Sun and rain speed trance
As drowsy morn sifts,
Awake in blur glance
To feel rest uplift.
Day moves crisp tempo
As coffee brew streams,
New Year's Day gumbo
Spreads a feisty theme.
Catch-up with lunch trip
On a social call,
Easy laughter grips
Such pleasant footfalls.
Then home bound car ride
As sleepy eyes droop,
Hot weather takes side
In somnolent scoop.
Lazy siesta moods
Cruise with drowsy air,
Sleepy dreams for food
In a crouching flair.
Late evening stroll
For meal takeaway,
Savour food fare toll
As tastebuds mint play.
Jazz and fest frame peak
In a pleasant feel,
Feast as goodies speak
As eats now reveal.
Late night drizzle
As the first day speeds,
Deep silence sizzles
As a new day seeds.
