Listen to poem:
I search the depths of my mind to find the words any words in an attempt to crystallize what you mean to me and miserably I fail coming up empty till a void rises and growls its silent voiceless roar and I find myself on edge chasing its echo reaching to grasp what I can that might resemble the thought of you the depth of your eyes or the sound of your name AP: Honorable Mention 2022 Submitted on August 7, 2022 for contest 2022 POETRY MARATHON ON MILE 11 sponsored by MARK TONEY - RANKED 10TH

Dear Line, the wistful poignancy of your poem is potent and hauntingly beautiful, yet the pain bared isn't diminished by the beauty but rather is felt more deeply and intimately by the reader, such is the gift of your exquisite heartfelt pen. Congratulations for your excellent win in Mark's contest. Warmest wishes and hugs.. ~Susan

Line, from my perspective you effectively relate how thoughts of disappointment can plague us "Late at Night". Especially gripping is the image evoked in the second stanza. I also love the earnest effort displayed in trying to strengthen the memory of our loved ones. Congratulations on your win on Mile 11 of my 2022 Poetry Marathon Contest. Keep your running shoes on, because Mile 12 has already started!
