Last Words

Last words come before last breath unexpected Expressions of regret, a heartfelt goodbye, Sincere apology on lips detected Words uttered in pain, a horrifying cry. Sudden thoughts upon which one has reflected Not giving thought, a most intentional lie, It behooves us to watch every word we say For the last word uttered may see us away. April 24, 2021
