Last Wish of the Rooted In Earth

Take my life, O Lord, but don't take "My Life". Delete not my knowledge, my memories--let not darkness, that moonless landscape of Nothing reign sovereign. Remember how you decorated our skies with constellations and scepters, with scintillations of crystal and smoke. Leave me those I loved, and who loved me in this barely discernible dimension we lived in: time and space believed-in absolutely, gloriously, in creation of sons, soul-mates who found us desirable above others. Thank you for the passion of the bed, the passion of the breath-- how we knew you before you knew us, before you fashioned us through the coupling of the chosen, Heaven, our voyeur, our vision of confirmation, our co-creator with the lips and loins that in circuity, sweat, and heat of pairing brought us back to your presence: Blessed be your Holy Name.
