Train ride, in a windowless freight wagon, rocked back and forth, with the clatter and vibration as it snaked on the rail score. Packed shoulder to shoulder, overpowered by their own stench. Separated from their families, unfed, with only snow to eat, cold, with only the bodies next to them for warmth, as the train traveled for days. Resettlement to the East It was not fully understood, why? 4/22/2021

A delicate poem in a very sensitive and controversial theme. This poem speaks passion, creativity, boldness and wisdom all at the same time. It is from a powerful voice.

Are Nazis born evil? A very powerful verse. I was born in London and experienced war in the Blitz as a little girl of eight. A V2 Rocket fell and killed 15 people and injur ed 27 in a library as my friend and i were walking home from school on the opposite side of the road, I remember the silence before it happened ,everywhere went black and i saw sparks coming out of the back of my shoes, the next thing i remember is being carried on the shoulders by an airman down the road home amid debris and chaos, I lived in Holly St Dalston and you can read about this account on the computer if you care to. When I saw the atrocities at the cinema and listened to the news on the radio, my experience was nothing compared to the norror of the concerntration camps....

The Nazis were an evil regime, how anyone could do that to their fellow man beggars belief. Hope you're well Eve and good luck in the contest. Tom

Well described, Eve. I could feel the nastiness of the situation. Your ending question is pertinent
