Last Night

"Last Night"

My screams cannot be heard
over the deafening sound of his breath.
He wails.
From behind my slumbering lids
I am robbed of the visions he carries
away with glee.
Never will this battle force me to submit.
Yet, I lay..open.
In glass.
In defeat.
At his feet.
And with blood in my teeth,
I smile...
because I had this dream last night.
