Last Night

The wind roars
obliterating
angel voices
showing me
the way,
the only way,
the gospel way
trees bent and broken
hurled like dust
in a desert storm
a sword dance
I take the chance
and pray
the angel voices
messaging
the wilderness
prevail
at last
against
the howling
prowling
creatures
of this deafening
windswept
wild and unforgiving
night

What great atmosphere your words create here. I can imagine the strength of the winds where you are. The power of prayer and mother nature are beautifully described. I just love how you ended this free verse "of this deafening windswept wild and unforgiving night" Cheers - Gary
