Last Favorite Movies Were Eighties

Lydia in 1988’s movie Beetlejuice was my first Goth experience. Winona Ryder did a fabulous job of making Goth feel normal. I adored everything about her character. The best movie character since Matthew Broderick in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Gave me a feeling of hope in the upcoming movie makers. I waited years and years and years for another great character. I mean twenty years or more. Luckily someone finally made Mulan and The Crods. Both cartoon movies which helped me resume my faith in movie makers.

Some of them are marvelous; others terrify me - although how would I know? The music scared me so badly when we were sitting in the theater waiting for Alien to start, I said to my husband "not this one," and we walked before we saw one inch of it.

They don't make movies like the old greats any more. Tom

Not for me anyway! I want wholesome, funny, and no bullying or shootings or rapes or any strife.

Caren, Rubbing my hangs together in lathered delight at this poem. So many distractions now with all our gadgets. The innocence of the eighties films and stars, or maybe not so much. The Breakfast Club, E.T., Aliens, The Outsiders, Star Wars, The Shining, Risky Business to name a few. -Richard

Ah, yes, so many except I have never seen The Shining; too scared to even try that one.
