Hi Duke, In life's theater, even the briefest roles, if played well, can leave an echo in the hearts of the audience. Best wishes, Don

Thanks Don. I'm thinking we should do what pleases ourselves within acceptable limits of morality. If we can affect others in a positive way as you suggest, that is truly a wonderful thing. The good news is there are opportunities as long as we're still breathing. I'll check out some of yours and thanks for the comment. You sound like you know what you are talking about!!

Hello Duke. Really enjoyed this one as usual. Well written and put a smile on my face. A great metaphor here and I wondered about the cow and thought perhaps reincarnation? Or you ended up in pantomime :):) I was also thinking that Jan is our limerick queen and you are our limerick king my friend. Hope you’re having a great day :)

Yes, I was thinking reincarnation. You are too funny! I have seen Jan's work and I believe she does a much better job than I do. We comment on each other's poems often. PS is very lucky she is here to lighten things up!

Woah, there's a clever humor in this limerick, dear Duke. Your imagination really travels vivid realms and you do know how to make an impact on the reader's mind.. This can also be interpreted in the circumstances of life, after all, life is a show too.. That last line really hits the magnetic moment of hilare! I always enjoy reading your poems.

Yes, a lot of people seemed to miss the point so I figured it was my problem and tried to fix it with a small tweak. How have you been? Today is my last day of work, and I am taking a short break to feel the love expressed on this site and to relax. It is really so much more fun than working!

Enjoyed the limerick, and the more I read it, the aha moment hit me. Very well done.

David, thanks for the comment. It was a little obtuse so I tried to clarify. Doing so while keeping the meter seems a challenge for this one.

Interesting limerick.. I am trying to get my head around this one and wondering why it exists as a cow... You have a vivid imagination my friend..

It's a bit of a joke. I'm referring to my life as a brief play and then being reincarnated. You have to be slightly evil and irreverent (as am I) to make these jokes. How much poking fun at people can we stand? I have been through the decadent 60's and 70's as an adult and am quite jaded, so it seems normal to me. However, in a world of political correctness....

Thank you for another enjoyable limerick. The entertainment judges must be terrible. Wrong audience. Try it again.

I wish I could, knowing what I now know, return and start over. But alas, that ain't happening. We're slaves to our evolutionary origins, which involve brief life and then death forever. Beyond that I don't know how nor will any one of us ever know how this universe got going. I will never pretend to have the explanation.

Good Morning, Duke, thanks for bringing a smile to my face this morning. I loved your Limerick and also was an actor in high school and college and could relate to the analogies. Yes, I will smile today. - Blessings, Daniel

You are very positive and welcome. A pleasure to see you here. That is interesting that you were involved in acting. I did have some interactions with students who were involved in acting in school. I was always very impressed that they could memorize lines and portray characters with authenticity. I was too anxious to even try it, although if I could come back for another go, I believe I would.
