Lamenting Mother

~~ I wept and I weep. All my tears cried since that day, could fill the oceans. I counted each gasping breath; the end came with dawn's bird song. __________________________ February 8, 2015 Poetry/Tanka/lamenting mother Copyright Protected, ID 02-639-176-08 All Rights Reserved, 2015, Constance La France For the Standard contest, Tanka Tears, sponsor Rick Parise, Judged 02/2015 Honorable Mention

this is a very poignant one. I really love the job you did here. Sure hope I can match it. But I have not had anything so terribly tragic as this happen in my life. A few deaths but they did not affect me like this. To lose your baby, it is so heart breaking, Constance. Thanks for your support at my blog. Much appreciated.

So sad, so beautiful, so many tears. I have read of your mother in another of your poems- (Gods need of angels) the words still haunt me "Then my mother died and I was left hurt and angry. And again I was told God needed another angel." Grief should not last forever. You have touched my heart with these poems. love Shane xxx

I like the first line . . . the brief pauses between bouts of tears . . . the sobbing breaths of air . . . the pivot was perfect with the song of hope on the wind. Lovely. 7
