Weather beaten; once smooth... as a pebble, now a jagged rock. He's been tried and tested by life's adversities; each day is a struggle for survival. He's been struck down by lightning's forked tongue. He's muddled through the asperities of unforgiving winters He's gotten wet in the cold rain... time and time again. His stomach frequently grumbling from pangs of hunger. He has no place to call home; unsure of a place to sleep next Each day he bears the brunt of life's adversities. But you won't find him wailin' about this and about that Let's give him a round of applause for he's one tough son of a gun! Submitted for... Hi Edward, Wonderful poem in simple phrases that eloquently express the plight of the homeless. Often we forget what it is like to feel rain, cold and hunger as an everyday experience - reality. Congratulations on your win.
