LAMB TO THE SLAUGHTER
The Lamb to the slaughter*
submitted freely to sovereign will
fulfilling heavenly role to die in my stead –
with priceless holy sacrifice and precious blood to pay
for my ransom, as a sinner condemned for everlasting fury
toward divine quickening so I can rejoice
in the Saviour’s eternal redemption…
Such Lamb of God slain
from the foundation of the world
now constantly upholds my very being
along my becoming, guarding me from sin-slaughter
enabling me to delight in His assured forever…
That Lamb is my Shepherd**
Who leads my steps to walk on
paths of righteousness with love
directing my heart toward trusting
His promises, glowing with hope, smiting doubt…
The resurrected Lamb with His grace
anchors me by the Almighty’s truth and mercy
letting my faith bloom toward kindness’ fruition
propelled for reaching-out, vanquishing selfish blight…
Yes, the Lamb of God midst His love
secures me throughout the end and beyond
sanctified from guilt, assured triumphantly
with His pardon so I can share granted blessings…
Indeed, I worship the Lamb Who is my Lord
for enriching me midst contentment
to keep on sharing the Gospel, while writing poems
propelled by His power, conquering my debility…
While praying to the Lamb for compassion-optimization
here am I humbled, serenely blissful
fervently desiring to do best against flaws
acknowledging that my all is nothing without
the LAMB OF GOD***.
*Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
**Psalms 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
***John 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
