Lamarck the Dragon Sire
Way deep in the forest where the acre always grows,
there lived a Dragon Sire, fifteen feet tall who glows.
His name is Lamarck wearing leathery scales of green,
he’s vicious and malicious and malevolently mean.
Contemptible and despicable he has a vile temper,
always held onto the dream he’d strive for kemper.
But little did he know the Dragonflies and Sprites
had planning of their own during long ebon nights.
The Dragonflies swarmed one day after some planning,
they spread out across the kingdom, started fanning.
The Gnomes and their homes began to light up brightly,
within a few minutes the whole kingdom was unsightly.
The Sprites flew super fast to push Lamarck out,
all two thousand twenty-three together had no doubt.
Then they went to his castle and with the Dragonflies
they insolvently ravaged his things in great disguise.
Hufflewinks on lily pads thought Lamarck was to blame,
they thought he was the master in this wicked game.
All of a sudden there was a crashing sound in the swamp,
the Dragonflies and Sprites began to quickly romp.
They said no matter what they would never fear the Sire,
for he was just a twisted thief and a pathological liar.
But in that moment of dread they felt the kingdom tremble,
so they all decided to gather once again and reassemble.
At the gathering place in the woods there stood the Dragon,
behind his long tale of scales he was carrying a red wagon.
Inside was a surprise for the kingdom to set their sights,
an endless feast for all the Hufflewinks, Dragonflies and Sprites.
Lamarck sat upon the hallowed wooden picnic table
and began to tell a tale of an ol’ nursery rhyme fable.
See, he wasn’t always mean with scales of leathery green,
he grew up abandoned and alone with no one to lean.
The kingdom taught him a lesson and finally realized
he couldn’t be vile to the Hufflewinks, Sprites and Dragonflies.
From then on days and nights were filled with desire
to be friends not foes with Lamarck, the great Dragon Sire.
