Lake of Fire's Wrath
Fiery, tormenting, burning with brimstone…
Such is the Lake of fire’s furious raging wrath
That warned me… being among the doomed:
“fearful, unbelieving, abominable,
murderers, ... and liars*…”
Expressed by the Scriptures.
Agonizing throughout eternity…
Oh, what a grim hopeless misery
Awaiting those to be cast into the lake of fire.
Frightened, I ought to flee from that bottomless pit
Of grievous excruciating condemnation…
...But what must I do?
I thank God Who by His grace and mercy
Rescued me when I trusted Him – Jesus Christ
My Saviour Who paid the penalty of my sin’s wages
Through His death, burial and resurrection...
He became the ransom price to shut me out from that lake of fire
And never to suffer terribly hell’s torture.
Spiritually freed from damnation, awfully everlasting
While assured of heaven’s triumphant bliss
I’m now refreshed by the Lord’s stream of living water…
To share the Gospel of salvation with my Redeemer's love
And testify about His compassion for others to escape
From holiness’ wrath seething from the lake of fire.
*Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
