Kissing In Cars On Warm Spring Nights

Ah, twas most indeed innocent!
We had our morals, in our sights!
The scent of floral spring trees, on starlit nights.
In safe suburbia, for you and me.
Blessed were we, to live , virginially .

Life today has so changed!
As drugs of all kinds have driven kids
deranged.
Death by gun, is considered, normal
not strange.
A quick snapshot for you, of today’s
world, so changed!

Death you accept, as normal as any sunrise?
Funerals, you think are normal,I
Surmise.
When will you ever expect to live free
of fear?
You have given up totally, haven’t you my dear!

No more parking in 'Gilson Lane' across from the Bahai Temple on Sheridan Road, eh?! Sad and sadder.

No, now kids dance like strippers. Ethics are but a whiff of long ago springs. And the lights of Planned Parenthood burn brightly in Our hoods? Do people know how Hitler got the idea for mass killings? From the USA not Nazis. Baha’i was beautiful! Glad I remember it! Pangie.

"The scent of floral spring trees, on starlit nights." Beautiful writing! World has changed for many. For many it seems no different, depending on where one grew up -- I join you in prayer, for an awakening of the Christ in humanity. Blessings my friend!

I have lost count. By all means, write -- God gave each of us a gift, or mission, or simply an affectionate hobby -- so, one does not have to be the best (whatever that means) of all writers, but just speak one's own truth often as possible...hopefully to bring forth a gem every once in awhile. Maybe one can uplift the world for the betterment of all humanity -- to awaken and inspire is a worthwhile goal. Blessings my friend. Joe.

May we find God! Ego tripping is really a road to nowhere......humility beats, I am in the Anthology any Day. So what? How many poems have you written? Some lazy poets here. Get busy. Writers write for the love of it. Waiting to be an anthology star? Baloney Be a writer instead. Some of you here for years with almost no poetry? For God’s sake, be a writer. Panagiota xoxo What say you, Joe?
