Kiss the Sky

She held her breath as he passed, But that only made her transparent. She swallowed her pride at last, And in her heart it became apparent. She took rejection like a champion; Held her head up high; although she wanted to die. She said to herself, never ever again, Will I let a man make me cry. She carried on from day to day; Displaying a warm smile- becoming cold inside; Was competent in pretending that everything was ok, While silently making plans for one last ride. She blew a kiss and said goodbye, To anybody who still might care; Drove off the cliff, yet unable to cry And blew away with the evening air. Tonight she would kiss the sky.
