Kingdom of Thieves

I've dreamed of things that could never be Chasing twilight to the ends of the Earth The moon called it a fool's errand But I followed the giggle of the sun So that I could stand here With star shine dripping from my hair To pull you up from the ledge And at long last tell you I love you My heart was never yours to steal But you made off with it Like a criminal in the night And I still don't know If that fragile thing is safe with you Or if it's going to be broken again But chasing your light Is all that keeps the darkness at bay So I'm here before you now If you want my heart then have it But if you don't want it Then please set it free Before it's too late

"And I still don't know if the fragile thing is safe with you" expresses such a prominent side of romance, yet who talks about it openly? This poem is a winner in my book.
