Kingdom come, but I first must die Thankfully, life here does not last. Though pain and grief can make me cry, one day they’ll all be in my past. Some sorrows seem like forever. Kingdom come, but I first must die, and this is my hope, for never can I stay as when I once was spry. Some plans of mine have gone awry. Slower do I walk than before. Kingdom come, but first I must die. Then – and only then – will I soar. It matters not my bones get old because I know one day I’ll fly to where God’s glory I’ll behold. Kingdom come, but I first must die.
