Kindness and Memories

you were standing in the rain with no place to go
it was late October and the leaves were piling up
the song birds had left , you were without a tune
your day was gloomy, the wind became abrupt.

yet you still sought the kindness that nature lends
had revisited your memories where life was grand
although those were stored away in your mind
you had spread them about like seeds from your hand.

the sun started to shine and the wind curled up and away
birds began to surround you now in a cloudless day
they too had memories of you and came back with cheer
spreading kindness with you which rewards your way,
